Harley-Davidson Cruisers
Harley-Davidson has always known how to capture the soul of the American cruiser. Since the company was established in the early 1900s, lots of exciting motorcycles have been built, and the brand still keeps grabbing attention of millions of bikes by introducing new models.
History of Harley-Davidson Cruiser
William Harley along with brothers Davidson founded a motor company in 1903 to build traditional cruisers with air-cooled V-Twin engines. Along with them, these motorcycles were also produced by Excelsior, Indian, and Henderson. The typical riding position for such motorcycles is the feet first and the hands up. These are machines built in the style of American motorbikes during 1930s-1960s.
Their first Harley-Davidson bike was very similar to other small motorcycles riding throughout the country. During the next decade, the company continued to expand. Cruisers made by Harley-Davidson were mainly heavyweight machines with engine displacements of over 700 cm³. The latest models by Harley-Davidson belong to the 2018 Softail Lineup.
The Most Popular Harley-Davidson Cruisers
The Harley-Davidson Low Rider S comes with great brakes, a powerful 1,801 cc V-twin engine, which is capable of producing 115 lb-ft of torque @ 3,500 rpm. There are also 6-speed gearbox as well as rubber engine mounts. The machine comes with the anti-theft system, ABS, as well as cruise control.
The Harley-Davidson Sportster Iron 883 is something between a cruiser and retro sports bike, which is one of the reasons for its popularity. The recent model comes with updated suspension. Although it does not have the best torque (53.8 ft-lb), it is a comfortable, sporty cruiser.
The Harley-Davidson Breakout 114 clearly shows that the manufacturer truly gives the customers what they want. It is a modern and long machine with a low riding position. Thanks to the headlight borrowed from the Livewire, it looks modern.
The Harley-Davidson Milwaukee-Eight 114 comes with a 1,870cc engine, which is capable of producing 100.5 horsepower @ 5020 rpm and 119 lb-ft of torque @ 3,000 rpm. The bike also comes with a redesigned tubular frame, which is 65 percent stiffer than the basic Softail frame.
