Models of Honda Motocross Bikes

For many years, Honda Motor Co. has been producing fast and reliable bikes. Its heritage in motocross is really legendary. Today, it is possible to find plenty of interesting dirt and Motocross models by the manufacturer.

A Brief History of Honda Motocross Bikes

By the mid-1960s, Honda’s motorcycles became very popular in the US market. In 1972, it manufactured motocross that everyone wanted to buy — the CR250 Elsinore. Over the next several decades, Honda Motor Co. was keeping improving its line of dirt and motocross bikes which allowed customers to check out the XR’s, CR’s, and other series. The CRF line was introduced in 2000. It is a line of 4-stroke motocross motorcycles that replaced the XR series by Honda. The 2018 motocross versions are the continuation of the CRF series.

The Most Popular Motocross Motorcycles by Honda

The 1983 version of Honda CR480R was equipped with drum brakes. It was extremely reliable for riding long distances without problems with power. The motorcycle was the best 2-stroke machine in Japan, although it was produced for only one year.

The 1986 Honda CR250R came with a new 250 motor and a good power valve. The machine featured a front disc brake, and in a year, it was also equipped with a rear disc. It was the best in its class motorcycle of that time. There were a few bugs in the model, but the manufacturer took care of them.

The Honda CR125M that was first produced in 1974 was one of the fastest, most reliable and low-priced machines available for sale. Although it was not the best 125 motorcycle, it became a winner of lots of races because there were lots of bikers who purchased it. The motorcycle did have weak transmissions, but it still was the best among other 125s vehicles available at that time.

The Honda CRF450R produced in 2008 is considered by many bikers to be the best MX bike by the manufacturer. This model came with a carburetor and other innovative features while the machines that followed it were not that good. Not only was it the best motorcycle in 2008, but there are still many people who believe that it is still the best one.
