Description

There's no denying that the Super 9 was arguably a top seller in both the United States and Canada back in the days. It is essential to mention that KYMCO introduced the vehicle in the US market during the 2003 calendar year, which followed a successful seven-year run. However, the manufacturers made their debut in 2005, with nine as their introductory models when it comes to the Canadian market.

KYMCO SUPER 9 LC Scooter

It is essential to mention that Kymco scooters are wholly manufactured and designed in Taiwan. However, it’s BECO Motor International that was responsible for bringing them to Canada. The Super 9 is undoubtedly the best-selling model of the brand in the country.

If you consider getting a motorcycle, it's worth mentioning that the Super 9 comes with two people accommodation. The bike also features metallic foot-pegs, an extended seat, and solid power. Moreover, there's also a dedicated section for helmets underneath the seat. If you are wondering about a storage capacity, there's also room for additional storage compartment installation.

Design and Versions

It is essential to mention that the vehicle was the top-of-the-line sports scooter for Kymco, whereas Kymco's ZX 50 was sold at an underwhelming price. Both the variants come with an identical vertical motor. As per some industry experts and bike enthusiasts, the Super 9 is highly deserving of the sports scooter title due to its peppy 2-stroke engine and quick looks- this effectively allows the bike to achieve 47-50mph.

Motor

The Kymco Super 9 LC has been skillfully designed with AF18E/AF16E Dio motor- very much inspired by Honda when it comes to the engine. It is essential to mention that Kymco collaborated with Honda to develop bikes back in the '90s. This ultimately helped the manufacturer to use Honda's knowledge to build an AF16/18 motor.

However, when it comes to the liquid-cooled variant of the Super 9, the bike came with a completely different motor, inspired by the fabled Yamaha Minarelli design. It's worth mentioning that the engine is similar in functionality. However, the latter method works better under extreme temperatures due to liquid cooling.

Amenities

Moving on from motor, the Super 9 from Kymco is a sophisticated and well-appointed scooter. Riders can expect masterful performance from the bike on the road. A disc brake further supports this upfront and a regular-sized drum in the rear for good brakes. Although the bike doesn't come with any glovebox, it features some under-seat storage-an an acceptable trade-off. It is equally important to mention that the Kymco bike uses a 'vertical' motor, essentially meaning the cylinder placed on the engine top.

The strategic placement of the motor effectively cuts into the space that is available on the motor top. This is essentially why other scoters don't come with under-seat storage. There's no denying that Kymco designed Super 9 extraordinarily with a raised seat up to provide some storage.
