Description
The Ducati 1299 Panigale is a legendary series of motorcycles known for interesting design, innovative features, and overall great performance. It has various details from different reputable manufactures, including Öhlins. There have been different versions of the original model produced under 1299 Panigale name, and the R version is one of them.
History of Ducati Panigale R
The history of 1299 Panigale model began in 2014 when the first motorcycle was presented by Ducati at the show that was held in Milan. The production of the motorcycles was started the next year. A successor of the model was the 1199 model that came with 1,198 cc engine. Ducati Panigale V4, a model that has been produced since 2018, became the successor of the model.
The R version of this model had to be equipped with 1,198 cc engine due to certain regulation. The power characteristics of this Ducati model were same as for other 1299 models, including 205 horsepower at 11,500 rpm, torque 6.2-100.5 pound-foot at 10,250 rpm.
It came with an advanced suspension by Öhlins. The wheelbase of the 1299 machine was increased to 1442 mm if compared to other Ducati models. The dry weight of the motorcycle was 357 lbs. It also featured a Termignoni exhaust system, and data acquisition system by Ducati.
Ducati Panigale R Description
The newer version of the basic Panigale R model was produced in 2017. Although the most of technical characteristics remain the same as in the original Ducati 1299 model, a few interesting changes have been noted. Thanks to 205 horsepower, the machine reacts quickly. There is also high-quality and innovative suspension from a reputable German brand that ensures responsive behavior of the Ducati Panigale motorcycle. The 1299 bike features advanced electronics, allowing the riders to enjoy the easiness of use of the bike.
The engine used for the 2017 is the same 1198 cc Superquadro engine. The Ducati bike also comes with an adj. swingarm pivot and the same advanced electronic technology found in the 1299 Panigale. Thanks to the use of a lithium-ion battery, the weight of the Ducati bike was significantly decreased.
