Description

KTM AG is an Austrian manufacturer well-known for producing high-quality bikes of different types, but mainly off-road machines. The KTM 390 Duke is one of the most interesting products that the company has on offer. This naked 373.2 cc motorcycle is assembled in India by Bajaj Auto.

A Brief History of the 390 Duke

The 390 Duke was not the first bike ordered by KTM from the Indian company for the local riders. The machine was first introduced at EICMA in 2012, and it has been designed taking into account the trends in India. The sales of the machine started the next year in country of the assembling company and then in the Philippines, and in two years, it appeared on the American market. In fact, this was expected because after the launch of the bike, S. Pierer, CEO in KTM, announced the intention of exporting the 390 Duke to the USA.

Bajaj also shared the information that the model would be sold 80 different countries all over the world. In 2014, 390 Duke became the fastest bike in India.

The new models produced by KTM after 2017 featured a range of changes if compared to the original machine, including bigger front brake disc, redesigned headlight to provide LED, and a TFT panel. Among some elements of the KTM motorcycles that were increased is seat height (up to 830 mm), but wheelbase of the latest model is shorter.

It was one of the most desirable motorcycles in Indian. The KTM machine resembles of the Duke 200 and features a 373cc. It is a lightweight machine with only 139 kg of dry weight and a six-speed gearbox. It is one of the rare bikes that allow switching the ABS off. The new machine is pretty powerful and comes with a range of advanced technology, which ensures a thrilling riding experience regardless of road conditions.

In India, it is considered the midrange machine, and its price is about three times higher than that for an average bike. While this KTM motorcycle can be used with an A2 license, it is a quick and powerful machine. In America, it is considered a lightweight with small engine moto product available at a relatively low price. The new machine is capable of developing up to 160 km/h.
