Description

It is essential to mention that the RD 80 LC-1 initially stepped into the market back in 1982. It entered the industry to replace the previously successful air-cooled Yamaha RD 80 MX. It’s worth mentioning that short seating made LC-1 only available for one person in Germany. This effectively influenced the sales of the motorcycle model, which later led to affordable pricing. Sooner rather than later, the manufacturer brought in a replacement seat, along with a second footrest system, for the sole purpose of accommodating two people (uncomfortably).

Yamaha RD 80 LC Motorcycle

It is essential to mention that the more extensive RD 80 LC-2 has initially been based on the RD 125 LC, both from a technical and visual standpoint. However, the Yamaha motorcycle has been skillfully developed with a water-cooled two-stroke engine. Moreover, it comes with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.

Technology

When it comes to Yamaha RD 80 LC, the manufacturing party provides the much-fabled Yamaha Energy Induction System YEIS. It’s an external reservoir that effectively bridges the inlet channel by a hose. The induction system is also available with RD 125 LC. This essentially allows the mixture to enter the combustion chamber at a great and rapid speed, thereby improving the filling. Then again, RD 80 LC features a maintenance-free CDI ignition, an Autolube system, and a cantilever box rocker with a central spring strut.

Furthermore, it is essential to mention that the Yamaha RD 80 LC became a premium all-rounder overnight as soon as the manufacturer included a fully-faired F-version. This allows the rider for touring, scratching and commuting. Moreover, as per all the leading motor analysts and bike enthusiasts, the Yamaha RD 80 LC promises genuine comfort and intelligent flexibility.

Motor

If you are looking for a motorcycle with a powerful engine and motor, you must not look past the Yamaha RD 80 LC. The vehicle comes fully equipped with a Single cylinder, two-stroke motor. However, most riders are overwhelmed with the engine that produces a maximum torque of 0.90 Nm (0.1 kg-m or 0.7 ft.lbs) @ 7500 RPM and a full peak output power of 10.00 HP (7.3 kW) @ 8500 RPM.

To put it simply, this drive-train effectively encourages the Yamaha bike to achieve a maximum top speed of 128.7 km/h (80.0 mph). Furthermore, the chassis in the vehicle is excellent characteristics, which is primarily responsible for handling behavior, road holding, and ride comfort. Lastly, the bike also features a steel cradle frame with front suspension as Telescopic forks and Yamaha mono-shock.

The bike makes an effective statement with its superior stopping power for not the engine and technology. The improved braking system ensures natural stopping on the road due to the presence of a Single disc. Furthermore, there’s a single sliding piston caliper size at the front and expanding brake (drum brake) size at the back.
